Description
It is a romantic tale between a wealthy sailor and a typical but pretty lady. They go for a boat ride with their friends and fall in unexpressed love. Not knowing when or where they will meet again or who will fall for whom. The girl’s parents are strict but smell something going on, yet they cannot pinpoint who likes whom. The sailor keeps on going from place to place, gets to know an employer in an advertising agency in another far-off place, and convinces a girl to take up employment overseas.
There are often misunderstandings and reconciliation, but the heartthrobs diminish off and on. With the support system of friends and parents, the playmates often check-mate, as in the game of Chess, which is similar to leaves growing on plants. Some leaves turn yellow prematurely, and some never seem to grow old, resulting in the gardener being busy and watching the leaves’ lives. In between comes a cat who is a mind reader and understands the ups and downs of going on in the minds of her owners—some pally with her, and some not so pally; hence, the cat also sides personalities according to the mood sways of individuals.
Employment in a foreign country has its own ups and downs, and the players are bowled over by life in general , and in love life, complicating smooth sailing. The luxury boat, titled “Happy Sailing, “symbolizes the story’s theme: all is not fair in Love or War. It is for the reader to sway in emotions, as a Sailor or lovesick mate, feeling the weight of the story’s symbolism.
