Description
Dubai is a land of opportunity, and the local people are generous, kind, and very religious-minded. However, living in Dubai can be daunting, especially if you lack practical knowledge of how things are done locally and this is the tale of a how a man, a recent expat who moved to Dubai for opportunities.
Set in the Petro Dollars Era of the late Seventies, this is the story of work-life in Dubai, UAE, in the year 1976. Employed by neo rich entrepreneurs whose only motive was to succeed in business, by hook or by crook no matter what it costs, but it must yield vitamin M (Money). Harsh working conditions, long working hours, poor salaries, and lesser amenities were the norm of the day. As they toil in hot and sultry weather, only two types of fishes survive, the less fortunate, who were only thankful for peanut salaries and would do anything told to do or else…. And the other kind of fishes, who do what they knew best and in ethical ways respecting their dignity and hard-earned academic skills and leave at the end of the day when forced to do things against their doctrine of professionalism.
